Training

Our employees receive initial 24 hour MSHA training with an annual 8 hour MSHA refresher as required by the Mine Safety and Health Administration. They also receive annual training consisting of H2S training, First Aid and CRP training, Respiratory Fit Testing, and Hearing Conservation Testing. Employees receive the OSHA 10 hour Construction Course. This is required by several of our clients who are members of the North Dakota Energy Coalition for Contractor Safety {ECCS).

As of January 1, 2003, our safety plan has 100% approval by National Compliance Management Service Inc. (NCMS). NCMS is a third party auditor for ECCS. Employees also receive annual orientation and hazard training for certain clients such as Dakota Gasification Company, Great River Energy, and Marathon.

Alcohol/Drug Abuse

All employees are required to have a drug and alcohol screening upon hire. They are also subject to annual, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, and random drug and alcohol screening. We have a substance abuse policy through a consortium that enables us to comply with both Non-DOT and DOT Drug and Alcohol testing requirements.
